Sometimes you just need to put something on video. As promised in the video here is the link to the original blog, You Are Not Equal, I’m Sorry. After viewing the video please click over and give the author, Dina Leygerman, the views she deserves!
I’m not a politician. I am a woman, a mom, and a grandmother. I have been marching my whole life. I started just out of high school when I made a life detour to break off a good relationship with a boyfriend because I believed that he could turn into an abuser just like his dad. I was a PTA leader in my daughters’ school. I was a Girl Scout leader for ten years. I was a CSEA union leader at work. I was a office manager at an elementary school for 20 years. I believed I was part of great movement helping teachers and parents educate children. I’m retired now from working and try to find joy and happiness with family and friends. I helped guide my children through their childhood with example, showing goodness, common sense, and love. I saw potential in my daughters and encourage them. My bottom line is happiness and joy in life. I do feel like I have have marched everyday of my life to be a smart, useful, and remembered woman, even though I didn’t physically join the crowd in LA. I don’t feel lesser than them. I’m proud of them for doing what they feel is right for them and other women. I do “thank” the women before me and now, who tackle politics to fight for our rights. They are strong in their convictions. You have an impassioned plea – don’t expect all women to follow your exact lead. So Wendy Lyn Newell, I love you and support you even when your impassioned plea scared me. PS I love my husband who whole heartedly believes that all women should have the right over their own bodies.
